Find a professional
Licensed clinicians and credentialed coaches, each checked in public records before we list them and again every year. Pick a topic and your state, then contact them directly.

In a crisis or thinking about suicide? Call or text 988, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any hour, or call 911 in an emergency. This directory is not for emergencies.
LifeByLogic checks each license or credential in public records before listing it and again every year. Listings are free, no one pays for their place, and nothing about you or your results goes with a click.
Who is listed
Two kinds of professionals, in separate, labeled groups:
- Licensed clinicians: licensed professional counselors, licensed psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and licensed marriage and family therapists. A state board licenses them to assess and treat mental health concerns, within the scope their state allows.
- Credentialed coaches: career, ADHD, wellbeing and parenting coaches who hold a current coaching credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the Board Certified Coach (BCC), from NBCC’s affiliate CCE, or the National Career Development Association (NCDA).
Each professional picks up to three topics from a fixed list matched to our labs: career change, burnout and stress, sleep, ADHD, parenting and relationships. You can search by topic and by the state you live in. A clinician appears in the state of the license we checked; a coach, who needs no state license, appears in the states they serve, and in every state if they see people online.
How each professional is checked
We list no one until we have checked their license or credential in a public record, and we keep each check with its day, the record it was made in and who on our team made it.
- Clinicians. The federal NPI Registry confirms who the clinician is, and the state board’s public license lookup confirms the license is current.
- Coaches. The credential’s issuer confirms the credential is current, through its public directory or its verification service.
Every listing shows Verified with the month of its checks. We check again every year, and a listing whose check is more than a year old stops showing until we check it again.
Coaching is not therapy
Coaches help with goals, habits and decisions. They are not licensed to diagnose or treat a mental health condition, and a coaching credential is not a license. If you are looking for treatment, look among the licensed clinicians or ask your doctor. SAMHSA’s free FindTreatment.gov lists licensed treatment facilities in the US.
How to choose
A listing tells you who someone is, what they work on, where they practice and how to reach them. Before you book, it is worth asking:
- Whether they work with what you want help with, and how.
- Their fees, whether they take your insurance, and whether they see people online or in person.
- For a clinician, whether they are licensed in the state where you live. You can check a license yourself in your state board’s lookup.
A first conversation is a good way to see whether the fit is right. A listing is not an endorsement or a referral: we check licenses and credentials, not the quality of anyone’s care.
Nothing about you goes with a click
Each listing’s links point to lifebylogic.com/api/directory/go/ followed by the listing’s fixed name and site or phone. From there you go straight to the professional’s own website or phone with no referrer, so they are not told which page you came from, what you searched for or what result you saw. No score, band, answer, email address or account goes with a click.
We count only daily totals: how many times each listing was shown and how many people followed its links, and each professional gets their own totals once a month. The topic and state you pick go only to our directory to find the listings, are kept nowhere but our host’s short-term request logs, and reach no analytics. We never relay a message: you contact the professional directly. Our Privacy Policy has the details.
How listings are ordered
Within each group, listings appear in an order that changes every day, so no one is always first. Listings are free, and no one pays for their place. If listers can later pay for a Featured place, as the terms below allow, those listings will show first in their topic and state and be labeled Featured, and every listing will keep its Verified check.
For professionals
Listing is free and by invitation while the directory starts. If you are a licensed clinician or a credentialed coach in the US who works on one of these topics, write to hello@lifebylogic.com. An invitation links to a short form; we check your license or credential before your listing goes live. These are the terms every lister accepts:
- Your listing is free, and you can remove it at any time without charge.
- Once a typical listing gets 5 or more contact clicks a month for three months running, we may offer a monthly fee for a Featured place: listings that pay it show first in their topic and state, labeled Featured, and the others stay listed free after them. We will write to you with the price at least 30 days before any fee starts.
- If you are listed before any fee starts, you are a founding lister and keep a lower price for life.
- We list you only after we check your license in the NPI Registry and your state board’s public lookup, or your credential with its issuer, and we check it again every year. Every listing, paid or free, shows Verified with the month of its checks; a listing whose check is more than a year old is hidden until we check it again.
- Your listing links to your own website or phone. We never relay messages, and nothing a reader writes, answers or scores reaches you or us through the directory.
- Each month we email you how many times your listing was shown and how many readers followed its contact links, as totals only.
- We use your email address only for those numbers and for messages about your listing, and never show it.
- A listing is not an endorsement: you are responsible for your services and for following your profession’s rules, and you tell us if your license or credential changes.
- We may decline or remove a listing that is inaccurate or no longer meets these terms.
