Welcome to LifeByLogic. By accessing or using lifebylogic.com (the "Site") or any of its tools, calculators, content, or services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service. They form a legal agreement between you and LifeByLogic ("we," "us," or "our").

LifeByLogic is an independent publication of interactive tools, calculators, simulators, and editorial content across neuroscience, decision science, behavioral economics, and wellbeing self-reflection. The core interactive tools and editorial content are provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. We also offer optional paid products — in-depth premium reports — described in the “Premium products and purchases” section below.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modifications.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may share links to individual pages and tools. You may cite our methodology in academic, journalistic, or personal work with appropriate attribution to LifeByLogic. You may not republish substantial portions of the Site's content without prior written permission.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or connected systems.
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to systematically download content or data, except as expressly permitted by our robots.txt file.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our tools beyond what is visible in the browser's standard developer tools.
• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service without prior written permission.
• Introduce viruses, trojans, worms, or any other malicious code intended to damage the Service or any other user's device.
• Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright notices, trademarks, or proprietary rights notices on the Site.

We explicitly do permit access by legitimate AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, and similar). Our robots.txt file reflects current permissions.

This is the most important section. Please read it carefully.

The tools on this Site — including the Brain Age Index, Sleep-Cognition Optimizer, and all other calculators and simulators — are educational tools. They are designed to help you understand evidence-based research and apply it to your own situation for learning purposes.

If you have concerns about your health, mental state, legal situation, or financial future, consult a qualified professional. Do not disregard professional advice or delay seeking it based on something you read or calculated on this Site.

Individual results will vary. The tools produce estimates based on published population-level research and your self-reported inputs. They cannot account for your complete medical history, genetics, context, or circumstances.

In case of medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room. In case of mental-health crisis, contact a crisis helpline in your country.

The Service and its original content — including text, tool designs, methodology documents, calculation algorithms, typography choices, graphics, and visual design — are owned by LifeByLogic or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The "LifeByLogic" name and logo are trademarks of LifeByLogic. The methodology identifiers — including LBL-BAI (Brain Age Index), LBL-SCO (Sleep-Cognition Optimizer), LBL-QS (Quit Score), LBL-BD (Bias Detector), LBL-LS (Life Score), and any future LBL-prefixed methodology names — are identifiers of our published methodologies.

The research cited within our tools — peer-reviewed studies, psychometric instruments, published frameworks — belongs to the respective authors and publishers. We cite these sources with attribution and claim no ownership over them.

You retain ownership of the data you input into the tools. For the free tools, that data never leaves your browser, so we never acquire any rights to it. For premium reports, the inputs you provide are processed on our server solely to generate your report (as described in our Privacy Policy); you keep ownership of them, and we do not use them for any other purpose.

If you voluntarily subscribe to The Logic Letter or any future newsletter, you authorize us to send you email communications related to the Service. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. We will process any unsubscribe request within 72 hours.

We do not send unsolicited promotional emails. We do not share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

You can use the free tools and read our content without an account. If you choose to create a LifeByLogic account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

You must be an adult in your jurisdiction — or have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian — to create an account or make a purchase. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at hello@lifebylogic.com. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, as described in the “Termination” section.

Most of the Service is free. We also offer two kinds of optional paid product: one-time premium reports and the LifeGraph+ subscription. Each product’s page describes what it includes, and its price, before you buy.

One-time reports. In-depth reports such as the Attachment Style Decoder, the Career Choice Signature, The Sixteen, and the Family Lab reports are sold as one-time purchases. You pay once; there is no recurring charge for a report.

LifeGraph+ subscription. LifeGraph+ is an optional subscription that gives ongoing access to its premium features. It is billed on a recurring basis — monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you choose — and renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The price and billing interval shown at checkout apply until changed; we will give you reasonable advance notice of any price change.

Cancelling. You can cancel LifeGraph+ at any time from your account or by emailing hello@lifebylogic.com. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it will not renew again. Refund terms are described in the “Refunds” section.

Payment. Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. For a subscription, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You agree to provide accurate payment information and represent that you are authorized to use the payment method. Applicable taxes may be added based on your location.

Delivery. These are digital products. After a successful payment, a report is generated and made available to you — typically immediately — and delivered to the email address you provide; LifeGraph+ features become available on your account. It is your responsibility to enter a correct email address and to be able to receive our email.

Premium reports and LifeGraph+ are digital products made available immediately, so the following applies.

EU and UK consumers. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you normally have a statutory right to cancel a purchase of digital content within 14 days. By buying a report or starting a LifeGraph+ subscription and asking us to provide it immediately, you expressly request that provision begin at once and acknowledge that you lose that 14-day right of withdrawal once a report has been generated or accessed, or once you have begun using LifeGraph+. This does not affect the additional refund options we offer below.

One-time reports. Because a report is delivered the moment you buy it, one-time report purchases are generally non-refundable once the report has been generated or accessed, except as set out below or as required by law.

LifeGraph+ subscription. As a matter of our own policy, you can request a full refund within 7 days of starting your LifeGraph+ subscription. After that, you can cancel at any time to stop future charges; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund the unused part of a current billing period unless required by law.

Goodwill refunds. If a product fails to deliver, is inaccessible because of a technical fault on our side, or was charged in error — including a renewal you did not intend — contact us at hello@lifebylogic.com and we will make it right, including a full refund where appropriate. We review refund requests in good faith, case by case, and return refunds to the original payment method.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your country.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or references to third-party services (such as research journals, academic databases, or partner institutions). We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

When you access a third-party site or service, you do so at your own risk. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and terms of any third party before providing any information or engaging with its content.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information obtained through the Service. Scientific research evolves; our methodology reflects our best understanding at the time of publication and may be updated as new research emerges.

Calculations produced by our tools are estimates, not diagnoses or predictions. Your actual health, cognitive function, financial outcomes, life outcomes, or decision outcomes will be shaped by many factors the tools cannot measure.

In no event will our total cumulative liability exceed one hundred United States dollars ($100), or the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months (whichever is greater). If you have not purchased anything from us, this means our liability to you is limited to $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LifeByLogic, its editorial team, and its affiliates from any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt — including reasonable attorneys' fees — arising from: (a) your use of and access to the Service; (b) your violation of any term of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason — including, without limitation, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately.

All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination — including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability — will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced prominently on the Site. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use the Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, stop using the Service.
