Questions

What is the Family Screen Balance Index?
It is a free, LBL-original parent tool that maps your family's screen ecosystem for one child across six areas: co-use, boundaries, content, displacement, soothing, and modeling. The free tool gives a balance map and three practical moves; the optional report turns them into a personalized, printable plan.
What is in the premium report?
Five sections, written from your answers: a personalized screen balance plan, age-specific guidance, a fill-in family media plan, scripts for ending screen time and setting limits, and sleep-protecting routines. It is delivered as a printable PDF.
Is this a diagnosis or a screening test?
No. The Index and its report are educational and observational. They do not screen for, diagnose, or measure any condition, including screen addiction, and they never grade your child or your parenting.
Does my child get a score, grade, or percentile?
No. Each of the six areas is shown as Strong, Steady, or Strained, in plain language, with no overall score and no comparison to other families.
What ages does it cover?
Birth through 17, across four age bands: under 2, 2 to 5, 6 to 12, and 13 to 17. The same questions are used at every age, but what counts as balanced is read against your child's stage.
How is the report delivered, and what if something goes wrong?
After secure Stripe checkout, your plan is written and delivered as a downloadable PDF within about a minute, and emailed if you opt in. If generation fails for any reason, you are refunded automatically.
Is this about screen addiction?
No. The tool deliberately avoids that clinical term. It is about balance: whether screens are shared, bounded, good quality, and kept from crowding out sleep, play, and time together, and what small change would help most.
Is my data private?
Yes. The tool runs in your browser, and your answers are never sent to our servers. If you buy the report, only the information needed to generate that PDF is processed for that purpose.
