Write for LifeByLogic
Last reviewed
If your profile on Find a professional is live, you can pitch an article for our Learn guides on the work you do. Abiot Y. Derbie, PhD, reads every pitch and approves the finished article, which is published with your name, your credential and one link to your profile. Nobody pays to publish, and articles are unpaid.
Who can write
A professional whose profile on Find a professional is live and verified:
- A licensed clinician who claimed their NPI Registry record, or
- A credentialed coach listed with a current credential from the ICF, the BCC or the NCDA.
You pitch from LifeByLogic Pro, signed in to LifeGraph+ with the email address your profile uses, so no one else can pitch in your name. Not listed yet? Claim your record or list yourself as a coach. Listing is free.
What we publish
LifeByLogic is a research-grounded publication. A contributed article is a Learn guide like the others: plain words for a reader with a real question, built on peer-reviewed research or government sources, in one of our labs: Brain Lab, Behavior Lab, Crossroads Lab, Family Lab or Life Dashboard.
- A new question. We publish one page for each search. As you type your working title, the pitch form shows the Learn guides that match it, so you can pitch a new angle or another topic.
- Not on care topics, for now. We do not take contributed articles on depression, anxiety, suicide, self-harm or crisis. Those guides stay with our own authors and reviewers.
- Education, not advice. General education only: no advice to a reader about their own diagnosis or treatment, and no client story anyone could recognize.
From pitch to article
- Pitch. Send a working title, the reader’s question it answers, its lab, why you are the one to write it, two or three key sources and any conflict of interest. It reaches us by email.
- Answer. We reply by email: yes, no with a short reason, or yes with another angle.
- Draft. You send the draft by email within 30 days, in your own words.
- Check. We check every claim against its sources. Where the article makes clinical, biomedical or method claims, a reviewer checks them, and is named only for a review they did.
- Edit. We edit for plain words, accuracy and length, and you approve the final text.
- Publish. The article goes into Learn when Abiot Y. Derbie, PhD, approves it, with a Last reviewed date, and we review it every year like every guide.
The rules every article follows
- Research first. Claims rest on peer-reviewed research or government sources, cited the way our Learn guides cite them. No claims about your own methods or products.
- Your byline. “Written by” your name and credential, with one link to your profile on Find a professional, and “Edited by Abiot Y. Derbie, PhD”.
- A note at the top. It says you are listed in Find a professional, that no one paid to publish the article and LifeByLogic paid nothing for it, and any conflict you declared.
- No self-promotion. Your profile link is the only link to you: no practice website, phone, booking link, discount code or “contact me” line. Your profile already links to your website.
- Your own writing. AI tools only for spelling and light editing, and you tell us if you used them.
- Corrections. Our corrections policy applies. You can ask for a correction, or for the article to come down. If your profile stops being live, your name and credential stay and the profile link comes off.
Rights and money
- You keep the copyright. You let LifeByLogic publish the article for as long as it is online, and edit it with your approval.
- First on LifeByLogic. The article appears here first. You may republish it elsewhere 30 days after it goes up, with a link back to it.
- No money either way. Nobody pays to publish, and articles are unpaid. An article never changes a profile’s place in Find a professional.
